One Killed in West Chicago Rollover Accident

March 7, 2011 - At least one person was killed when 2vehicles collided on the West Side of Chicago on Sunday. According to a report at NBC Chicago, the rollover accident happened shortly before 3 a.m. on Sunday morning.
Police have not determined how the rollover crash occurred, but the vehicles collided on West Washington Boulevard. The force of the collision propelled one of the vehicles into a nearby building, which caused it to rollover and land on its hood. The building, a local church, was not damaged. Pictures from the scene show one vehicle lying on its front end, with the windshield and passenger area almost completely crushed. The other vehicle involved in the accident is not pictured.
A 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, but police did not say which car he was traveling in. Two other people suffered personal injuries and are receiving treatment at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital. Both victims, a man and a woman, are expected to survive. The Major Accident Investigation Unit has not completed its investigation, and it is not yet known who was at fault. One of the drivers received a traffic citation for having a suspended license.
