Nine Cars Involved in Crash on Dan Ryan

February 28, 2011 - A total of 9 vehicles were involved in a serious accident on Chicago's Dan Ryan Expressway on Saturday. According to a report at the Chicago Tribune, the multi-vehicle accident took place shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Police have released few details about how this car accident occurred, but initial reports indicate that the crash wasn't related to adverse weather plaguing the area. However, investigators have not said what caused this multiple-vehicle accident or who was at fault. The cars apparently collided on the Dan Ryan Expressway in Bridgeport. There were 15 people in the 9 cars, but only 6 suffered personal injuries.
The injured were transported by ambulance to local hospitals for treatment. Their identities have not yet been released. According to NBC Chicago, the injuries are not life threatening, and all of the victims are in fair or good condition.
This car accident took place less than an hour after another crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway injured 5 people. The previous accident occurred near the exit for 33rd Street. Fortunately, all of the injured are expected to survive. Their identities have also not been released.
