Collision on West Side of Chicago Injures 5 People

March 3, 2011 - A car crash on the West Side of Chicago left 5 people in the hospital on Tuesday. According to a report at the Chicago Breaking News Center, the accident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning and involved at least two cars.
Police say the cars collided near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Central Avenue, although authorities have not disclosed exactly how the Chicago crash happened or who was at fault. Pictures from the scene show a gray four-door sedan that sustained damage to its right front end. The other vehicle was not pictured.
Police say 5 people were injured in the West Side crash, although their identities have not been released. Most of the victims were transported by ambulance to West Suburban Medical Center, but victims are also being treated at Loretto Hospital and Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center. Their conditions are currently unknown, and authorities have not said how severely the victims were injured. It is believed that all of the victims were adults.
No other information about this crash was immediately available, but authorities should release more details when it becomes available.
