How are damages from a dog bite attack paid?

 

A: When someone is the victim of a dog bite attack, the usual source of compensation is the homeowner's insurance for the dog owner.  However, some homeowner's insurance carriers have started issuing policies with insurance policy exclusions for dog bite injuries caused by certain breeds of dogs, in particular pit bulls.  Where there is no homeowner's coverage available, there is frequenly insufficient means of providing compensation for the victims of dog bite attacks.
