McLean County Infant Death Yields Policy Limits Settlement

We reached a policy limits settlement in a McLean County wrongful death suit arising from the death of a two-month old infant at a home day care center in Bloomington, Illinois. The infant was taken from the licensed part of the day care and placed on a water bed in the master bedroom. While left unattended on the water bed, she rolled over so that she was face-down in the water bed and as a result, suffocated. This survival and wrongful death suit was brought on behalf of her surviving next-of-kin: her parents and two minor brothers.
