Bartender assaulted by patron secures settlement for eye injury

We reached a settlement for a bartender who was punched in the face and sustained an eye injury while attempting to break up a fight between two patrons. Most often, insurance policies do not cover intentional acts. However, since we showed that our client was not the intended target of the punch thrown by the defendant, we were able to establish coverage and reach a settlement with the defendant's homeowner's coverage.
