Arbitration award in UIM claim

We secured an award for our client in an underinsured motorist (UIM) arbitration hearing.  The underlying accident was a rear-end auto collison in which the client suffered aggravation of pre-existing degenrative disc disease in her neck and lower back, including bulging discs in the cervical spine and lumbar spine.  However, because the client was going through a contentious divorce at the time of her car crash, she elected to not seek medical care promptly, and the delay in seeking care was a difficult issue in the case. However, supported by her treating orthopaedic surgeon, we were able to secure a $25,000 offer from the at-fault driver and an award for the balance at an arbitration hearing.  (Cook County)
