Woman Killed, 2 Others Injured in West Side Crash
December 28, 2010 - A woman from Fargo, North Dakota was killed and 2 other people were injured in a single-vehicle accident near Chicago's West Side on Sunday morning.
According to reports in the Chicago Tribune, the fatal car accident took place around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning when a car being driven by a 23-year-old male lost control near the 1600 block of West Harrison Street and collided with a pole.
The 25-year-old female passenger was taken to Stroger Hospital for treatment, but did not survive her injuries. The male driver along with a 4-year-old boy were also taken to Stroger Hospital for treatment. The driver was listed in critical condition. The young boy was said to be in shock, but otherwise uninjured.
Several witnesses told police that they heard the 4-year-old tell his dad to slow down just before the accident occurred. Local police are still investigating the cause of this fatal accident and no charges have been filed at this time. We will update this story if and when new information becomes available.
