South Side Crash Leaves 3 in Critical Condition

February 7, 2011 - A three-car collision on Chicago's South Side injured 6 people, including 3 victims who were taken to local hospitals in critical condition. According to a report at the Chicago Tribune, the South Side accident occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Police say the crash happened in the Park Manor neighborhood near the intersection of State Street and 63rd. Three cars were involved, but investigators with the Chicago Police Department have not released any information on how the car accident occurred or who was at fault.

Six people suffered personal injuries in the crash, including a child. The identities of the victims have not been released. Police say that 3 of those victims are in critical condition and are receiving treatment at Comer Children's Hospital and Stroger Hospital.

Police say one of the victims appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, although investigators have not said if this person was driving one of the cars involved in the South Side crash. This particular man was taken against his will to the hospital due to the extent of his intoxication.
