Sorelle Prescott Crib Recall Is Expanded

A crib recall that originally began in April 2010 has now been expanded. The original recall involved cribs manufactured by Sorelle Prescott. 

This crib recall began after the reported death of a 1-year-old child who became entrapped between the mattress and crib frame, resulting in suffocation. There were 13 additional accidents stemming from these defective cribs, including incidents when the cribs collapsed.  

Now the recall has been expanded to include the Simplicity label cribs sold between July 2009 and October 2009. The mattress support can detach or bend, causing it to drop. This creates a dangerous space in which a child can become entrapped or fall out of the crib.
