Single-Vehicle Crash in Jo Daviess County Injures Driver

September 3, 2010 - Jo Daviess County, Ill. - A man has been injured in a single-vehicle crash in Jo Daviess County.

WREX
reports that the car accident occurred on Wednesday near the intersection of North Hill Road and North Ford Road. Reports indicate that the driver, who is from Chicago, was driving along the road when he apparently lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree.

The accident victim was injured in the crash, but the severity of those injuries, as well as whether or not those injuries required hospitalization, has not yet been released.

Deputies have stated that the victim was driving under the influence at the time of the accident. Whether his impairment was due to drugs, alcohol or some combination thereof is unclear at this time.

Officials discovered both alcohol and illegal drugs in the man's vehicle. He has since been charged with driving under the influence, 2 counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, illegal transportation of alcohol, and failure to reduce speed/accident.

Luckily no other vehicles or injuries resulted from this car accident.
