Rollover Crash in Chicago Kills One, Injures Another

August 16, 2010 - A single-vehicle accident on the South Side of Chicago killed one man and injured another on Sunday morning. According to reports at the Chicago Breaking News Center, the car accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Police say two men were traveling in a Ford F-150 truck on the Dan Ryan Expressway when the driver took an exit ramp too quickly. The truck crashed into a curb near the 76^th Street exit, which caused the truck to rollover on the exit ramp. The truck rolled multiple times before coming to a stop. The driver, a 63-year-old man from Chicago, was transported to Saint Bernard Hospital, where he died shortly after 3 a.m.

A passenger in the truck has yet to be identified. This victim was treated for personal injuries at Stroger Hospital. He is expected to survive. The Illinois State Police are investigating this crash, and investigators have already indicated that speed was a factor in the rollover accident. They have not said if alcohol played a role.
