Reality TV Star Charged in Springfield DUI Crash


June 18, 2010 - An Illinois woman who appeared on a popular reality television show has been charged with reckless homicide and driving under the influence for her role in fatal car accident. According to reports at NBC Chicago, police say the 43-year-old woman was drunk when she rear-ended another vehicle, which resulted in the death of 2 people.

The car accident occurred last year on Interstate 72 in Springfield, Illinois. The force from the collision ejected one occupant of the SUV, who was killed instantly. The other victim was hit by a passing motorist as he tried to escape from the wrecked vehicle.

The 43-year-old driver who caused the fatal car accident appeared on season 3 of Big Brother, a reality television show on CBS. She is currently in jail in Sangamon County; her bond has been set at $1 million. In addition to reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence, the reality show star is also facing charges of speeding and reckless driving. Her next court date has not been set.
