December 8, 2010 - Authorities have no clue what happened to a Chicago mother after her husband was killed in a car accident on Sunday. According to a report at ABC News, the 40-year-old woman from Chicago went missing after she and her husband were involved in a car crash in LaSalle County.
The LaSalle County Sheriff's Department believes that the woman walked away from the accident on foot, although authorities are concerned that she would not survive long outside in the snow. Footprints were visible leading away from the wreck, but the woman has not been seen since Sunday. The victim was returning from a Christmas party with her husband, a 41-year-old man, when the car crashed on an icy road. The woman's husband, who was driving the car at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff's Department says more than 50 people have been searching for the woman in the last 2 days. They are now considering the possibility that the victim was picked up by a passing motorist. Anyone with information about this car crash is asked to call the LaSalle County Sheriff's Department at 815-433-2161.
