Physician exposes attempted cover-up in patient's medical malpractice wrongful death case

The blog that is linked above is written by an OB/GYN. It details an attempted cover-up of an episode of substandard medical care which resulted in the death of a mother. The entire story should be read with great interest by anyone who is a victim of medical malpractice and is counting on any health care provider who has not adopted a "Sorry Works!" type of approach to claims to deal with them in a decent and honorable way. What is not surprising about this story is that once the defense misconduct was exposed, the case settled shortly thereafter for a significant amount of money. While the misconduct of plaintiffs is often made the fodder for "frivolous lawsuit" type stories, defense misconduct which is even more egregious is often hidden by settlements reached shortly after being exposed.
