One Man Hospitalized after Three-Vehicle Crash in Chicago
September 9, 2010 - Chicago, IL - One man has been sent to the hospital after a 3-vehicle accident on the Stevenson Expressway (Interstate 55).
ABC7 News reports that the car accident occurred at around 6:15 a.m. Monday morning on the southbound Stevenson Expressway. Three cars crashed into one another on the expressway close to South Pulaski Road.
One man was thrown from his vehicle upon impact. The man was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital to be treated for injuries including a compound fracture to his right leg. His current medical condition is unknown. Illinois State Police said the male victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the car accident.
One other person received minor injuries in the crash. That victim was able to receive treatment on the scene.
State Police confirmed that no citations had been issued as of Monday morning. The accident remains under investigation by Illinois State Police.
