July 28, 2010 – A wedding turned tragic over the weekend when the bride’s maid of honor crashed her SUV into 3 wedding guests before fleeing the scene. According to a report at My Fox Chicago, the hit-and-run accident occurred early Sunday morning outside the Belvedere Chateau, a popular wedding venue located on W. 103rd Street in Bridgeview, a suburb of Chicago. Police say the 24-year-old maid of honor was leaving the wedding shortly after 2:30 a.m. when she put her SUV in reverse and hit 3 people who were standing in the parking lot waiting for a ride. One of the victims, a 52-year-old man from Bridgeview, was pinned underneath the vehicle. The driver abandoned the SUV and ran from the scene, but she was arrested shortly later.The 52-year-old victim who was pinned under the vehicle was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. His wife suffered several broken bones, including a broken hip and leg, for which she requires surgery. The third victim escaped serious injuries.The driver has been charged with several felony counts of hit and run. She appeared in a Cook County Circuit Court on Tuesday, where she posted a $30,000 bond.
