One Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident in Lake Forest
May 28, 2010 - A Chicago man suffered personal injuries on Thursday when his car crashed into a light pole. According to reports at the Daily Herald, the car accident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. on Thursday morning. The victim, who has been identified as a 57-year-old man, was driving southbound on Route 41 in Lake Forest when he lost control of his vehicle.
The car crashed into one light pole, and the force from the collision propelled the vehicle into two other poles before it came to a stop. First responders were forced to shut down Route 41 near Route 60 for several hours as they cleaned up the scene. The victim, who suffered extensive injuries, was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center. He is expected to survive this devastating crash.
Police are still investigating this single-vehicle accident, and a Major Crash Assistance Team will be reconstructing the crash before determining exactly how it occurred. Police believe alcohol may have played a role in this accident.
