One Dead after Motorcycle and Cab Crash on Chicago’s Northwest Side
August 23, 2010 - Chicago - A crash between a motorcycle and a taxicab has left one person dead and two more injured.
The Chicago Breaking News Center reports that the crash occurred just after 6 a.m. Monday morning on the Northwest Side. Police stated that the cab was driving on the 6000 block of North Nagle Avenue when it collided with a motorcycle and careened off the road. The cab then crashed into a utility pole and a trailer carrying a boat. The utility pole snapped and fell onto a neighboring garage.
The cab driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle rider and one other person were taken to Resurrection Medical Center for treatment. The condition of the motorcyclist is said to be good at this time.
The condition of the third person involved in the crash has not been released. This person may have been a passenger in the cab at the time of the crash, but this cannot yet be confirmed.
