One Dead after Fatal Truck and Motorcycle Crash in Will Township


August 27, 2010 - Will Township - An accident between a motorcycle and truck in the Will Township has left one man dead.

The Chicago Breaking News Center reports that the fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Route 50 at Peotone Road when a 1980 Kawasaki motorcycle that was traveling east on Peotone Road collided with a truck that was driving north on Route 50. Officials stated that the motorcycle crashed into a truck early Thursday evening just before 6 PM.

The motorcyclist, 23, of Frankfurt, was pronounced dead at 7:30 PM. The truck driver did not sustain any injuries in the crash. No further details concerning the motorcycle accident or those involved are available at this time.

The motorcycle accident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police Joliet District 5. The deceased motorcycle rider is expected to be autopsied later this day.
