Numerous People Injured in Chicago Bus Crash

May 13, 2010 - A dozen people suffered personal injuries on Monday in a bus crash. According to reports at NBC Chicago, the Chicago Transit Authority Bus was traveling on Chicago Avenue when it was cut off by a black SUV. The bus driver tried to avoid hitting the SUV, which caused it to hit another car and then crash into an occupied school.

Ten passengers on the bus suffered personal injuries and were treated at a variety of local hospitals. Their conditions are not currently known. The CTA bus driver and another driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. All the victims are expected to survive. No one in the school, the Rowe-Clark Math and Science Academy, was injured, but the school was occupied at the time of the crash.

Police are still investigating this serious bus accident, but they believe that road rage may have played a role in the crash. The driver of the black SUV was apparently frustrated with the car ahead of him or her, which caused the driver to cut off the bus. Police have not said if the driver will be facing any charges in conjunction with this accident.
