Nine Injured in I-94 Hit-and-Run Accident

July 19, 2010 - Nine people suffered personal injuries on Saturday night in a hit-and-run accident on Chicago's South Side. According to reports at the Chicago Sun-Times, three cars were involved in the crash, which occurred around 10 p.m. on the I-94, also known as the Bishop Ford Freeway.

Police say the vehicles involved were traveling northbound on I-94 when one car crashed into another, which resulted in the second car hitting a third. The second car also rolled down an embankment before coming to a stop. The vehicle that caused this accident left the scene before first responders arrived.

All of the victims are expected to survive, although one of the occupants of the second car is currently in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Two additional victims suffered serious personal injuries and are receiving treatment at Roseland Community Hospital and MetroSouth Medical Center. The remaining victims suffered very minor injuries, for which they received medical treatment at the scene.

Police are looking for the driver who caused this serious car accident, but they have not released any information on the make and model of the car at this time.
