Motorcyclist killed on way to see delivery of his child

Just a few hours after finishing my blog post on how road construction zones pose special hazards for motorcycle riders, I saw a story in my news reader which may be the saddest story I have seen all year about a motorcycle accident, which is saying something considering the number of wrongful death motorcycle crashes that happened this past year.

A Florida man was on his way to the hospital to attend the birth of his daughter when he was killed after riding his motorcycle into a parked construction vehicle.  He was passing through a road construction zone and missed a warning sign apparently being held by a flagger and drove into the construction zone.  Witnesses say that there were an inadequate number of cones set up to properly direct traffic passing through the construction zone. 

The road construction company will inevitably deny liability for this accident, and in light of the really horrific losses that this family has suffered, I would strongly recommend that this family hire an experienced motorcycle accident lawyer.
