Missing Woman’s Husband Was Drunk in LaSalle County Crash

December 21, 2010 - Police have yet to find a trace of the missing LaSalle County woman who disappeared after a late-night accident on Dec. 5, 2010. The woman and her husband were driving home from a Christmas party when their vehicle went out of control on an icy road and crashed in Seneca. The husband, who was driving the car at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 40-year-old woman, however, was not found. Police believe she walked away from the accident wearing slippers.

According to a report at My Fox Chicago, toxicology reports indicate that the missing woman's husband was under the influence of alcohol when he crashed their car. The 41-year-old man's blood-alcohol content was extremely elevated and police say he was in no condition to drive.

Meanwhile, investigators are still trying to determine what happened to the missing mother of 4, who has not been seen in 2 weeks. Police believe she either got lost in the snowstorm or was picked up by a passing motorist. Snowy weather in the area has hampered local rescue efforts.
