Michigan rider severely injured in crash

I saw a piece in my news reader about the efforts that a Michigan man is making to recover from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that happened when a driver pulled out in front of him from a cross street.  He suffered a brain injury which requires several hours of therapy every week.

The other thing that caught my attention in the article was an analysis of the causes of motorcycle accidents in northern Michigan.  For people in the Chicago area, many of the same factors apply, perhaps even more so when it comes to the role of distracted driving.
