I-290 Accident Injures Six Children
July 25, 2010 - Six children suffered personal injuries on Saturday in a multi-vehicle collision on the Dwight D. Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago. According to a report at the Chicago Breaking News Center, the car accident occurred shortly after midnight early on Saturday morning.
Police are still investigating this car accident, but initial reports indicate that 4 cars were involved. The vehicles were traveling on the westbound side of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Expressway, also known as I-290, when they crashed near North Lombard Avenue. Police have not said what caused the accident or
who was at fault. Six children were injured in the collision, and it is believed that all of the children were traveling in the same car. The victims were transported to local hospitals with varying injuries. Fortunately, all of the children are expected to survive.
Deputies with the Chicago district of the Illinois State Police continue their investigation into this multi-car accident. There is no word yet on if any citations will be issued. More information on this crash will be added if and when it becomes available.
