Hit-and-Run Driver Leaves Chicago Woman in Critical Condition

September 29, 2010 - A Chicago woman is fighting for her life this week after she was hit by a car on the Northwest side of the city. According to a report at the Chicago Breaking News Center, the victim was crossing the street in the Cragin neighborhood when she was hit; the driver did not remain at the scene to assist the victim or report the accident to the police.

The pedestrian accident occurred around 7 p.m. on Monday night. Police say the victim was attempting to cross North Long Avenue when she was hit by the vehicle. She suffered serious personal injuries and is currently being treated at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The extent of her injuries is unknown, although she is currently in critical condition. The victim's identity has not been released, but police say she is a 21-year-old woman from Chicago.

The Chicago Police Department is still investigating this serious accident and they are seeking the hit-and-run driver. Witnesses describe the vehicle as a dark Audi, possibly black or blue. Anyone with information about this serious hit and run accident is asked to call the Chicago Police Department.
