Four Hospitalized after Car Accident in Plainfield
August 21, 2010 - Plainfield - Four people have been injured in a nearly head-on collision close to Plainfield.
The Herald-News reports that the car accident occurred at the intersections of U.S. 30, Caton Farm Road and Gaylord Road at around 10:30 PM on Friday. An SUV and a smaller passenger car collided in the intersection.
An official on the scene, Lockport Township Fire Protection District Captain Kevin Pastore, described the car accident as, "almost head-on." All 3 people in the passenger car were sent to the hospital. Two of the 3 had to first be removed from the vehicle by emergency crews. The driver of the SUV also had to be transported to the hospital.
One of the injured was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet. The remaining 3 are receiving treatment at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Captain Pastore stated that the seriousness of their conditions is currently unknown.
The cause of this serious car accident is still being investigated at this time.
