Five Injured in Car Accident on Chicago’s West Side
May 24, 2010 - Five people were injured, all of them seriously, in a car accident on Chicago's West Side. According to reports at Chicago Breaking News, the two-car accident happened early Saturday morning at approximately 3 a.m.
Police are still investigating the cause of this serious car crash, but initial reports indicate that a Ford SUV was driving on 18th Street when it crashed head-on into a Dodge passenger vehicle near Damen Avenue. Police have not said if the SUV crossed the center line into oncoming traffic, but the driver of one of the cars has been arrested in conjunction with this car accident.
In total, 5 people suffered serious personal injuries. All of the victims were taken to unnamed hospitals, and all 5 are listed in critical condition. It appears that the driver who was arrested was not seriously injured. Police have not released the victims' identities, but they say that the victims include 4 women and 1 man. All of the victims are under 30 years of age. The driver who caused the car accident has also not been identified by police.
