Elderly Woman Dies in Crash with School Bus in Cherry Valley
August 26, 2010 - Cherry Valley - One woman has died after an accident involving a passenger vehicle and a school bus Thursday morning.
WREX reports that the fatal collision occurred in the 4900 block of Rotary Road early in the day on Thursday. A car collided with the rear of a Rockford school bus in Cherry Valley. The passenger in the car, a 74-year-old woman, died in the collision. An elderly man who was driving the vehicle was injured in the crash. He was transported to a local hospital via medical helicopter.
The school bus was only carrying 2 children at the time of the accident. Neither child sustained injuries in the crash. The bus driver was also uninjured in the crash.
The scene of the accident was managed by emergency response crews from the New Milford Fire Department and the Stillman Valley Fire Department.
