Elderly Chicago Driver Crashes Into City Truck

July 15, 2010 - An elderly driver suffered personal injuries last week after he drove his car into a Park Ridge city truck. According to reports at the Park Ridge Herald-Advocate, the 76-year-old man from Chicago was driving on Busse Highway in Park Ridge when he slammed into the back of a parked truck operated by the Park Ridge Public Works Department.

The car accident occurred on Thursday, July 8^th near the intersection of Morris Street and Busse Highway. The Public Works truck was parked on the side of the road at the time of the accident, and witnesses claim they saw the elderly driver drifting from his lane immediately before the crash. The truck was unoccupied, but the driver of the car was injured. He is currently receiving treatment for his personal injuries at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, where his condition is currently unknown.

The driver received several tickets in conjunction with the accident, including improper lane usage. He was also cited for damaging city property. Police say the driver claimed he was tired at the time of the crash.
