Eight Passengers Injured in Chicago Bus Crash

June 30, 2010 - At least eight passengers and a bus driver suffered personal injuries on Monday when a Chicago city bus was hit by an SUV. According to reports at The Chicago Breaking News Center, the bus accident occurred at the intersection of Chicago and Pulaski Avenues in the West Side neighborhood of Chicago.

The Chicago Transit Authority bus was driving on Pulaski Avenue when an SUV crossed the center median and crashed into the bus head-on. The accident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday afternoon.

Numerous passengers were injured in the crash, but police say all of the injuries are relatively minor and the 8 victims are all expected to survive. The bus driver was also injured. Police have not said if the driver of the SUV who caused the crash suffered any injuries, and the investigation has not yet determined what caused the driver to cross into oncoming traffic. None of the victims have been identified and their conditions are currently unknown.

Police continue to investigate this bus accident, and they have not yet indicated if any charges will be forthcoming.
