

December 14, 2010 - A pedestrian was killed early on Sunday morning when he was hit by a car that then fled the scene. According to a report at the Chicago Breaking News Center, the hit and run accident took place shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Sunday in the Chicago suburb of Aurora.
Police have yet to find the driver who caused this fatal accident. The victim was walking on Butterfield Road when he was hit from behind near the intersection with Eola Road. His car had run out of gas nearby, and the victim was returning to his disabled vehicle. Another man who was walking with the victim was not injured. The victim was transported by ambulance to Provena Mercy Hospital, where he died less than an hour after the accident.
Witnesses got a good glimpse of the driver, describing him as a white male with brown or black hair in his early 20s. It also appears that he has several visible tattoos. The car was a dark passenger vehicle, possibly black or dark blue. If you know anything about this fatal hit-and-run accident, you are asked to call the Aurora Police Department at 630-256-5330.
