Drunk Driver Kills Woman, 13-Year-Old Boy in Chicago Crash

November 23, 2010 - Two people were killed on Friday after a Chicago woman chose to drive under the influence of alcohol. According to a report at the Chicago Tribune, the 32-year-old woman crashed her car on the South Side of Chicago, killing a 13-year-old boy and another woman. The fatal car accident occurred around 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

Police say the drunk driver was driving an Oldsmobile Achieva eastbound on West 111^th  Street when she veered into oncoming traffic heading westbound. The driver did not crash into another car, but she did lose control of her vehicle before it crashed into a tree and a utility pole. The car then rolled over onto the side of the road. Two passengers in the Oldsmobile were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, including a 13-year-old boy and a 34-year-old woman. Another passenger and the driver were injured. It is not known how the 4 people were related.

Police have cited the driver for drunk driving, and she is due in court on Dec. 14. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
