December 13, 2010 - Several children suffered personal injuries last Wednesday when a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus collided with a passenger vehicle. According to a report at My Fox Chicago, the car accident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.
The CTA bus was traveling down Lake Shore Drive in Chicago when it crashed with a car near the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and 43rd Street. Investigators with the Chicago Police Department have not determined how the crash occurred or who was at fault, but it appears that the passenger vehicle crashed into the side of the bus. The bus was traveling on the Jackson Park Express line.
In total, 5 people suffered personal injuries in this accident. Three of the victims were children. The children were treated for their non-life-threatening injuries at University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital. All were admitted in good condition and are expected to make a full recovery. Two adults were also injured, and were treated and released from Mercy Hospital and Medical Center. The identities of the victims have not yet been released, and police have not said if they were passengers on the bus.
