Crash with tractor claims life of motorcyclist

Last Thursday, a Cass County motorcycle accident claimed the life of a Chandlerville man.  The accident happened on the Oakford-Chandlerville Road.  A farmer was cutting grass along the side of the road with a tractyor pulling a Bush Hog.  He turned into the road to make a U-turn, and in doing so, he turned right in front of the motorcyclist.  The motorcyclist tried to stop but could not, resulting in the wrongful death accident.

Vehciles like tractors mustr follow the rules of the road while operating on public highways.  This includes checking for oncoming traffic while merging onto the roadway.  This is yet another fatal motorcycle accident occurring due to a failure to yield the right of way to a motorcycle.  This rider had little chance to avoid the collision when the slow moving tractor pulling the Bush Hog behind it.
