

July 14, 2010 - A Chicago woman died on Sunday after she was struck by a train on the city's Northwest side. According to reports at My Fox Chicago, the 45-year-old woman was walking across a railroad bridge when she was hit by a train operated by Amtrak. The train accident occurred shortly after noon on Sunday afternoon.
Police say the victim was struck at a bridge near the intersection of West Irving Park and North Kilbourn roads. They have not released any information on why the 45-year-old woman was on the bridge. The victim was dead when first responders arrived and likely died immediately upon impact. Her autopsy was held on Monday, and the Cook County Medical Examiner ruled that the death was accidental.
No other injuries were reported in this train accident. The Amtrak train was identified as No. 334, one of many that run between Milwaukee and Chicago. More information on this tragic train accident will be added if and when it becomes available.
