June 4, 2010 – The Chicago Police Department is seeking the public’s help in apprehending the driver who was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident last month. According to reports at ABC 7 Chicago, the police are seeking a tan or light-colored Buick Park Avenue that likely has or had damage on the front of the car near the passenger’s side.Eyewitness accounts place the Buick Park Avenue at the scene of a pedestrian accident on May 12, 2010. An 80-year-old man was crossing Cottage Grove Avenue when he was hit by a car near East 53rd Street. After carrying the victim for a short while on the hood of his car, the driver fled the scene. The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after 9 p.m. that night.If you have any information about this fatal car accident, or if you know someone who has a light-colored Buick Park Avenue that had some front-end damage, please contact the Chicago Police Department.
