Chicago Police Officers Injured in Thanksgiving Hit-and-Run Crash

November 29, 2010 - A hit-and-run accident on Thanksgiving left two Chicago Police officers with serious personal injuries. According to a report at the Chicago Sun-Times, the officers were on duty when their squad car was hit by another vehicle. The accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on Thursday evening.

The Chicago Police Department is still investigating this serious car accident, but initial reports indicate that the officers were driving their patrol car down South Lawndale Avenue in Ogden when they were hit near the intersection with West Roosevelt Road. The other driver, who has not been identified, then fled the scene. Police have not said what type of vehicle they are looking for in connection with this hit and run crash.

Officials have not yet released the identities of the injured police officers. They are being treated for their injuries at Mount Sinai and Stroger Hospitals, where they were both listed in serious or critical condition on Friday. Police believe the officers should survive their injuries. If you have any information about this hit-and-run accident, you are asked to call the Chicago Police Department.
