Chicago Man Dies in South Side Ejection Crash

November 23, 2010 - A Chicago man was killed over the weekend after he was ejected in a high-speed collision on the South Side. As reported in the Chicago Sun-Times, the Illinois State Police believe the crash may be alcohol-related, although they have not yet concluded their investigation into the fatal accident.

According to reports, the car accident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police say the victim was driving an Oldsmobile Aurora on the Dan Ryan Expressway when he lost control of his vehicle near 87^th Street. The car veered sharply to the side of the road and then crashed into a brick wall near the Expressway. Police say the driver suffered massive personal injuries after he was ejected from the car when it crashed at high speed.

He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the Sun-Times. First responders could not resuscitate the driver, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as a 35-year-old man who lived on South Rhodes Avenue in Chicago.

A passenger in the vehicle, who has not been identified, was injured but is expected to survive. No other cars were involved in this fatal crash.
