Chicago Fire Truck Crash Injures One

June 16, 2010 - A collision between a passenger vehicle and a fire truck left one person in the hospital last Friday. According to reports at The Chicago Sun-Times, a 43-year-old man suffered minor personal injuries when his car was hit by a fire truck operated by the City of Chicago Fire Department.

The car accident occurred shortly after midnight on Friday on the West Side of Chicago. Reports indicate that the victim was driving through the intersection of Paulina and West Madison Streets when he was hit by a fire truck. The fire truck was responding to an emergency call, but police have not said if the truck's alarms and sirens were activated at the time of the crash.

The car's driver was treated for his personal injuries at Rush University Medical Center. His injuries were described as minor and non-life-threatening. The driver was the only person in the vehicle, and no firefighters were injured in this accident. Police have not said who was at fault in this crash or if any charges will be filed.
