Chicago Car Accident Leads to Fatal Gunfire

June 28, 2010 - A car accident early Saturday morning in the Pilsen area of Chicago resulted in gunfire that left one person dead and another injured. According to reports at the Chicago Sun-Times, two vehicles were involved in a collision on Wood Street in Pilsen shortly after 4 a.m. on Saturday morning. When the two occupants of one of the cars got out to inspect the damage, they were both shot.

A 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while another unidentified man is being treated for serious personal injuries at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital. The victim was shot multiple times in the arm and legs. 

Police are still investigating this fatal incident, and they have yet to determine if the shootings were a result of road rage or if they were unrelated to the car crash. At this time, investigators do not know for sure if the shooter was in the other car that was involved in the accident. Police continue to investigate and are looking for the shooter and anyone else who may have been involved in this fatal incident.
