Chicago Bus Accident Injures 11 Riders

June 28, 2010 - Numerous people suffered personal injuries last Thursday when a bus believed to be operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) crashed into another vehicle. According to reports at the Chicago Sun-Times, the bus accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the intersection of Milwaukee and Damen Avenues in the Wicker Park area of Chicago.

Police reports indicate that 5 ambulances were sent to the scene, and 11 riders on the bus were transported to local hospitals with personal injuries. All of the injuries were relatively minor, and all of the injured victims are expected to survive. Another 12 passengers on the bus were uninjured.

Police have not said how the accident occurred or who was at fault. The bus driver and the driver of the other vehicle have not been identified. The Chicago Transit Authority has not released an official statement about the accident, and they have not confirmed that it was a CTA bus involved in the crash.
