Carpentersville Man Dragged in Pedestrian Accident

June 30, 2010 - A Carpentersville man suffered personal injuries on Sunday when he was dragged by a car after a minor traffic collision. According to reports at The Courier News, the victim's motorcycle was hit by a 67-year-old man from South Barrington. When the victim approached the car to discuss the accident, the driver took off, entangling the victim in the car's window and dragging him approximately 40 feet down the road.

The car accident occurred on Elgin Road shortly after 8 p.m. on Sunday evening. Police say the initial collision occurred in the parking lot of a bar, but police have not said if the driver was drinking before the incident. Despite being dragged, the victim was not seriously injured.

The driver who caused this accident is facing charges of aggravated battery. He has had previously had runs-in with the law, including convictions for murder, drug possession and larceny. The driver has also been arrested on 8 separate occasions for burglary. He is due to appear in court on July 7, 2010.
