May 25, 2010 – Three people suffered personal injuries on Monday in a collision between an ambulance and a passenger vehicle. According to reports at My Fox Chicago, the car accident occurred on the city’s Northwest Side, near the intersection of North Austin and West Foster.Police continue to investigate this serious crash, but they have said that the ambulance was with the Chicago Fire Department. Shortly after 7 a.m. on Monday morning, a car traveled through the intersection and broadsided the ambulance. The ambulance was carrying a patient at the time, but police have not said if the vehicle was using its emergency sirens.Three people were injured in the crash, including the driver of the car. A patient inside the ambulance and one of the paramedics were also injured. The identities of the victims have not been released, but they all received treatment at Resurrection Medical Center. Their conditions are not known at this time. The driver of the car, who was not seriously injured, has been cited for his or her role in the accident.
