Serena School District bus crash
It appears at first blush that most of the fault for this school bus accident lies with the driver of the Chevy. However, bus drivers normally have a duty to exercise the highest degree of care for the safety of their passengers. This means that some of the fault may be attributed to the company that operated the school bus.
The ability to recover from the school bus company will be an important factor in ensuring that the injured children are fairly compensated, as the sheer number of children injured will likely result in the Chevy driver having insufficient coverage.
One thing that an experienced Illinois personal injury lawyer will do is make sure to takes steps to identify theories of liability which will ensure that there is sufficient insurance coverage or other assets available to compensate the victims of negligence.
